Maintain Timeframe Years in GRC

Use

You can use this Customizing activity to define the number of the years before and after the current year that is displayed in the timeframe dropdown list on the hierarchy and reporting screens.

For example, if the calendar year is 2010, and you configured the timeframe years in the past as 5 and the timeframe years in the future as 6, then the years displayed in the timeframe dropdown list is from 2005 to 2016.

If you do not define any years, the system uses the default setting and displays 10 years before and 2 years after the current year.

Requirements

You must have created frequencies in the Customizing activity Maintain Timeframe Frequencies, and timeframes in the Customizing activity Maintain Timeframes.

Activities

You can create new entries, update existing entries, or delete entries.

To create new entries:

1. 1. On the Maintain Timeframes Years screen, choose New Entries.
   The New Entries: Details of New Entries screen appears.
2. 2. Select the Parameter ID field, and choose Timeframe years in the past.
3. 3. In the Parameter Value field, enter a positive integer value for the years, and then save the entry.
4. 4. On the Maintain Timeframes Years screen, choose New Entries..
5. 5. Select the Parameter ID  field, and choose Timeframe years in the future.
6. 6. In the Parameter Value  field, enter a positive integer value for the years, and then save the entry.

To update the timeframe entries:

1. 1. On the Maintain Timeframes Years screen, enter values for Timeframe years in the past and Timeframe years in the future.
2. 2. Save the entry.

To delete timeframe entries:

1. 1. On the Maintain Timeframes Years screen, select a parameter ID, and then choose Delete.
2. 2. Save the entry.

Note: The application has logic to compare the timeframe years in the past with the valid from date of the earliest organization unit object. If the valid from date is later than the timeframe years in the past, the application displays the later date in the dropdown list.

For example, if the calendar year is 2010, and you configured timeframe years in the past as 5 and the timeframe years in the future is 6, and the valid from date of the earliest organization unit is 2008.01.01,  the application displays the timeframe years as from 2008 (not 2005) to 2016.
